Sub-Zero Selects Zscaler Cloud-Delivered Security Service

Sunnyvale, California, July, 30, 2009

Zscaler, Inc., the market leader in cloud-delivered, multi-tenant Security as a Service (SaaS), today announced that Sub-Zero, the recognized industry-leader in high-end refrigeration units, is leveraging Zscaler SaaS service to protect their headquarters, branch offices and mobile road warriors in distributed locations from Web security risks. Zscaler enforces Internet business and security policies. The Zscaler service also significantly lowers IT costs while providing a strong solution for reporting, replacing one described only as “broken.”

Before selecting Zscaler, Sub-Zero had all traffic running through separate filtering software for gateway anti virus and Web filtering. The maintaining, patching and updating of these point products created high administrative costs and burden. With Zscaler, Sub-Zero simply forwards Internet-bound traffic from its Microsoft ISA server to Zscaler to enforce policies. The solution also protects mobile users and company networks from threats. For example, previously, notebooks that were infected on the road could reconnect to the office network and create security backdoors.

“Zscaler’s integrated Web security service eliminates the need for multiple point products at multiple gateways, consolidating and simplifying security while adding advanced protections,” said Tyler Verri, security analyst at Sub-Zero. “Deployment was painless; Zscaler support was very helpful, and all we had to do to be up-and-running was simply forward the traffic from our Microsoft ISA server. And whereas before we had very limited reporting, Zscaler’s integrated reporting dashboard gives us full visibility and easy investigation.”

“The cloud-based Web security of Zscaler provides another way for ISA 2006 customers to realize a combination of efficiency and security,” said David B. Cross, product unit manager, Microsoft Corporation. “As part of our Business Ready Security strategy, we are pleased to partner with Zscaler to extend the value of ISA to our common customers.”

"ISA is a widely used and popular Web proxy,” said Jay Chaudhry, CEO Zscaler. "We are glad to extend the value of ISA servers currently deployed in the market and provide integrated security and reporting capabilities at an attractive, low total cost of ownership.”
